Q. What is child sponsorship?

Sponsoring a child means donating monthly to a child living in poverty and encouraging them through messages and prayer. Your monthly donation equips us with our local partners and foundations to care for a child and providing them with essentials like medical checkups and education.

Q. What is a "Heart of Love Child"?

This is a boy or girl living in poverty who’s enrolled in Heart of Love’s care program. A
child can be between the ages of 0 through 18, and in some cases as old as 25.

Q. If I cancel my child sponsorship, what happens to the child I sponsor?

Financial circumstances can change. If you need to cancel your sponsorship, the child
you sponsor will continue to receive care until we find a new sponsor. You can discontinue your sponsorship at any time.

Q. How do I cancel my sponsorship?

To cancel your child sponsorship, please call us at 888-784-0289.

Q. How can I sponsor a child in need?

Sponsoring a child is simple. First, choose a child from the list of children awaiting
sponsorship. After, just follow the simple steps to complete your sponsorship.

Q. Can I sponsor more than one child?

Yes, we have many people and organizations that sponsor multiple children.

Q. Can I sponsor a child in the United States?

Heart of Love cares for mothers with children through our Transitional Housing Ministry which is currently operational in New London County, Connecticut. These women come from abusive or addictive backgrounds and are enrolled in our unique 2-year respite program, helping them become re-enter society as secure and productive members of the community. Q. How old do you have to be to sponsor a child?

There’s no age limit to sponsoring a child. Everyone is welcome to join us in helping
children around the world.

Q. What is the cost of sponsoring a child?

It costs $41 per month to sponsor a child.

Q. Why does it cost more to sponsor a child through Heart of Love International?

Our program is unique because we provide more than just food and water. We provide
physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual needs of each child, helping them to
adapt to society and find their purpose in life.

Our program empowers children and encourages them through childhood, into
adolescence and into adulthood.

Q. How are sponsorship funds used?

Heart of Love takes financial integrity seriously. We steward your donation in order to
make the greatest impact possible. Every dollar goes toward bringing children from
poverty to freedom and misery to peace.

Currently, over 90% of your donation goes toward specific care a child needs, from
medical and dental care, nutrition, protection from abuse, basic education and care.
The balance of funds is used to help each child by paying for needed administration,
marketing, fundraising and infrastructure so we can reach even more children and
families in need.

Q. What specific benefits will the child I sponsor receive?

What does child sponsorship cover? The child you sponsor will receive the love and
care they need to thrive. While individual support can look a little different depending on each child’s unique needs, every child receives:

– Protection from abuse: Children are surrounded by loving adults trained in child
protection who keep them safe and teach them how to advocate for themselves.

– Care for their health: Children are monitored for malnutrition, have a yearly
medical checkup and receive care when they’re hurt or sick.

– Educational opportunities: Each child receives a quality education, equipping
them to reach their dreams and become thriving adults.

– Support after disaster: When disasters strike, children receive emergency care,
including clean water, shelter and counseling.

– Ongoing love and support: Each child is surrounded by pastors, volunteers
and staff who love and care for them. Plus, they receive ongoing encouragement
from you, their sponsor, through messages and prayer. This support reminds
them just how loved they truly are.

– The hope of the Good News: Each child is connected to a local church or
ministry, where they hear the gospel and experience Jesus’ love for them.

Q. How can I communicate with the child I sponsor?

As a sponsor, you can write to the child you sponsor either through physical mail or
coming very soon, through your log-in portal on our website.

After you send a message, our staff will translate and deliver it to the child you sponsor. We recommend writing a couple of times a year, but you’re free to write as often as you like.

Q. Will the child I sponsor write to me?

The child you sponsor will write to you, however, many of these children do not read nor write, so please be patient with us as we are working to expand our volunteer base to make more and better communications between each child and their sponsors.

Q. Can I visit the child I sponsor in person?

We are looking to implement sponsored visits as soon as possible, please contact us so
that we can give you the most up to date information possible.
