Heart of Love International is led by a volunteer board of directors, dedicated to the Christian commitment of helping those less fortunate. Each member of the board brings vital experience.

Michael P. Calo, President & CEO

Responsibility: Michael is responsible for the vision, mission, and forward direction of Heart of Love International.

Background: Michael comes from a background in finance, investing, real estate, and healthcare. He has founded and sold several companies in these business arenas. He is also a pastor, and founder of an evangelical Christian fellowship. He has worked in Christian TV, radio, and online platforms, and has traveled and ministered in over 30 countries.

Joseph Theis
Vice President & Director of Promotion & Fundraising

Responsibility: Jospeh designs and executes fundraising strategies for Heart of Love International. He maintains relationships with donors, solicits major gifts, and oversees the development of all fundraising materials.

Background:Jospeh is involved in wine and spirit sales, a profession he has been dedicated to for more than three decades. He has traveled widely as part of his training and dedication to the industry. Jospeh is widely recognized for his knowledge of the industry and as an inspiration to others.

John Walsh
Vice President & Director of Sponsorships
Responsibility: Jon develops sponsorship programs for Heart of Love International and identifies potential sponsors.

Background: Jon is a veteran of more than 25 years in sales positions in pharmaceutical and biotechnology, and entertainment technology. He is knowledgeable about many computer programs, including those coordinating sales, customer relationship management, and order management.

Robert Ottersen
Chief Governance Officer
Responsibility: Robert is the chief record keeper for Heart of Love International. He maintains all corporate records, plans board meetings, sets agendas, and ensures that all board members are informed about the current operations of Heart of Love International.

Background: Robert is a veteran of both sales and purchasing positions. Much of his experience has been in companies dealing in construction and home improvement products. He also has experience in banking and energy. He has a Bachelor of Arts in geology, and played soccer in college, including serving as team captain in his senior year.

Shamara Grant
Financial Services Consultant
Responsibility: As Heart of Love International grows, Shamara oversees compliance and financial control issues. She also is involved in developing and improving security in our online systems and streamlining financial workflows.

Background: Shamara is an accountant and has also been involved in overseeing the accounting and financial operations of companies and non-profits. She has also consulted with companies on various facets of their business, including accounting, computer operations, website development, SEO management, and contract proposal writing.
